Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission
The Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission, or CGPSC, is a state government agency that serves Chhattisgarh, India. It is responsible for administering Civil Services and Competitive Examinations, which are used to select qualified candidates for various civil service and departmental positions.
The commission was established on 3 May 2001 under the provisions of Act 315 of Part XIV of the Indian Constitution, when its respective state of Chhattisgarh was constituted on 1 November 2000 by merging numerous districts of Madhya Pradesh into one state.
Functions
Under the supervision of the Government and the state governor, CGPSC conducts its tasks as authorised by Act 315.
- Conducting the selection procedure for the chosen candidates.
- Conducting interviews and screening exams with people who are eligible.
- Examining candidates for competitive and departmental positions.
- To keep track of and make decisions on service rules.
- Advice to the Government of Chhattisgarh.
The state governor appoints or removes CGPSC members. Their tenure of duty is six years, beginning on the day of their appointment.
