The Bank of Maharashtra ( BOM ) is a nationalised bank controlled by the Ministry of Finance of India.

As of December 2021, the bank had 15 million customers and 2001 branches across the country.

BOM has the largest network of branches of any nationalised bank in Maharashtra.

As of December 31, 2020, the bank’s overall business had surpassed Rs 2,66,000 lakh crore.

V. G. Kale and D. K. In Pune, India, Sathe founded the bank.

On September 16, 1935, the bank was created with a US$1 million authorised capital and commenced operations on February 8, 1936. It provided financial assistance to small firms and spawned a swarm of industrial ventures. The bank was nationalised in 1969.

A. S Rajeev became the bank’s Managing Director and CEO on December 2, 2018. On December 31, 2018, Hemant Kumar Tamta was designated Executive Director. A. B. Vijayakumar was named Executive Director on March 10, 2021.
